Never, Never, Never, Never

My name is Linnea Larsen and I am honored to have been invited by Marta to post on her blogroll. I have chosen one of my poems that I hope the reader will enjoy and find inspiring. I also invite you to read more of my poetry and other writings on my blog at Wordpress: http://linneann.wordpress.com/

Thank you, Marta. Your mentoring and friendship have made these past several months of writing fulfilling and joyful.

Dear writer, write.
Sweet angel, sing.
Dance breezily, Butterfly,
With vulnerable wings,
Fated and true.
Offering comfort
To grieving hearts,
And love to heartless souls,
Raising many soulless spirits,
Reconcile the trinity.
With poetry authentic
And full nakedness, arouse,
By fearlessly exposing
Your wealth, poverty,
Prayers, and doubt.
Seek depths undiscovered,
Soar to heights
That are too high,
Take the road less travelled,
Find the diamond unshined.
Behold the gift
Of giftedness:
A buried talent has no worth.
Sow every seed bestowed,
Pour out the succulence reaped.
A whisper may distantly echo,
A single drop might ripple far,
A giving tree never stops giving,
Though a low-lying stump
It may ultimately be.
When words seem frozen solid,
I will bring a warming thaw.
With stillness, know I am.
And faithfully unfailing,
I will revive you time and again.

“If you want to write, if you want to create, you must be the most sublime fool that God ever turned out and sent rambling…I wish craziness and foolishness and madness upon you. May you live with hysteria, and out of it make fine stories…Which finally means, may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.”—Ray Bradbury
This poem became much more than originally intended but I won’t apologize for its emotion. It is dedicated to anyone with a hopeless passion for something, writing or otherwise. A few phrases have been stolen from responses on my blog and I feel obliged to pass the encouragement on. My cup cannot hold all my gratitude.

  1. Hi,
Congratulations on your guest appearance on Marta's blog! This is a poem that speaks to the desires of the heart.
I rejoice over the emotions that you displayed. For discovering your life purpose generates emotions that are indescribeable. Sharing our talent, passing it on, reaching out to help others with the gifts we have, when done from the heart causes changed. So, I enjoyed the feverent emotions displayed.
Great poem. It is a joy to see you mature in your calling.
    Ciao,
